Mood Spa
The spa is a central part of La Zambra's identity, with treatments and wellness journeys. Ask which circuit access accompanies your category; an included visit and unlimited daily use are different benefits.
THE ASH & KEY COLLECTION
An Andalusian retreat beyond the beachfront.
La Zambra reinterprets the former Byblos hotel as a contemporary Andalusian retreat at Mijas Golf. White architecture, natural materials and private terraces create a different mood from the coast's urban hotels. Golf, wellness and time within the grounds are the natural starting points. Although the hotel sometimes uses Marbella in its wider destination positioning, the actual setting is Mijas Golf, and transport should be planned accordingly.
We would choose it for a few days that do not depend on a packed itinerary: a treatment, a round of golf, a long breakfast and perhaps an outing to Mijas or the coast. It can also work for a family if the children's programme matches your dates. The key is enjoying a retreat setting rather than expecting a town or beach promenade immediately outside.
Couples, golfers and families who want an inland resort with a strong wellness emphasis and contemporary Andalusian design.
This is not a beachfront hotel. Plan a car or transfers for beach days, Mijas Pueblo and evenings elsewhere.
Share your dates, who is travelling and what matters most. We can discuss the hotel and help shape your plans. If a home here is part of the picture, we can arrange viewings around your stay.

Choose a terrace you will use, then decide how much indoor living space you need. For a longer stay, a Junior Suite may be a better balance than a larger category whose outdoor area dominates the quoted size. The hotel describes connecting options subject to availability, so secure the actual arrangement before booking travel for a family or group.
| Category | Published size | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe Rooms | 30–40 m² | Garden or golf outlooks, with published terraces of 6–8 m². |
| Junior Suites | 45 m² | Additional lounge space and a published 10 m² terrace. |
| Suites | 50–125 m² | Different layouts with substantially varying outdoor areas. |
| Private-pool suite | Selected category | A more private arrangement; request its exact plan and inclusions. |
Published areas may include outdoor space. Confirm the exact layout, occupancy and inclusions for the room offered.
The published rooms use natural fabrics and Andalusian craft details. King or twin preferences are subject to availability in relevant categories. If a bath, separate shower or particular terrace orientation is important, request confirmation for the specific room type.

Nearby golf is a defining attraction. Reserve preferred tee times first, then leave the rest of the day open for lunch or the pool rather than treating every available hour as another activity.
The hotel lists both tennis and padel. Discuss coaching, court access and equipment when planning an active stay, especially if different members of the group want different levels of exercise.
A baby and kids' club broadens the resort's appeal. Confirm ages, supervision and opening hours before assuming that a spa visit and children's session can be scheduled together.
The official dining offering includes tapas-style dishes at Picador and Mediterranean-influenced all-day dining at Palmito. We would plan one more deliberate dinner and keep another evening simple.
Bamboleo provides a drinks-led setting within the resort. A relaxed evening on site is part of the reason to choose La Zambra, particularly after a day spent playing golf or exploring inland.
On a fourth visit, openminded01 praised the concierge, guest-experience team and housekeeping, as well as the breakfast service.

The same account enjoyed a Junior Suite and the spa access that accompanied that stay. It is a useful example of choosing a category for benefits actually used.

A separate May 2026 guest account reported pool-maintenance concerns and inconsistent bar and spa service; management acknowledged the points. The setting also requires transport for many outings. These are worth weighing alongside the strong praise for personal attention.
Selected public guest accounts, paraphrased and checked on 26 October 2026. These individual experiences are not a representative survey or a promise of the same stay.
A good match when wellness, golf and time in the resort are the purpose of the trip, with category benefits checked in advance.

Mijas Golf is useful for exploring a lifestyle built around space, golf and a quieter home base. Compare that with the coast and with the village setting of Mijas Pueblo. We can arrange viewings that clarify those differences, including the journeys you would make for everyday shopping and evenings out.
Choose the right dates, room and pace for your visit.
Confirm spa inclusions, children's arrangements and tee times before arrival. If you intend to explore independently, settle the car or transfer plan early so the retreat setting remains a pleasure.
Share room preferences, accessibility needs, children’s ages and any occasion you are celebrating. Ask for the cancellation terms, included meals and additional charges in writing before confirming.
