La Danza rooftop
The fourth-floor rooftop offers views and a place to end the day. Think of the pool as a city-hotel facility for a pause, not a substitute for a large resort pool.
THE ASH & KEY COLLECTION
A historic building with a contemporary city rhythm.
Áurea Palacio de la Tinta brings a restored early-twentieth-century building on Paseo de Reding into Málaga's hotel collection. Its historic exterior and contemporary interiors offer a different character from a conventional city hotel. The location works well for combining La Malagueta, the harbour and the cultural centre, while the rooftop and wellness facilities give you reasons to pause between outings.
We would consider it for a city-and-sea break where architecture matters, but where the day is still spent exploring. It is a newer hotel with a smaller body of public guest feedback than the established addresses nearby. That makes precise room selection and current operating details especially useful, without taking away from the appeal of discovering a new place.
Couples and city-break visitors who appreciate a historic building, contemporary interiors and access to both Málaga and the beach district.
Entry rooms are relatively compact, and rooftop pool space is limited. Compare the actual room and terrace rather than the scale of the façade.
Share your dates, who is travelling and what matters most. We can discuss the hotel and help shape your plans. If a home here is part of the picture, we can arrange viewings around your stay.
Still exploring? You don’t need fixed dates.

The Junior Suite and a Deluxe sofa-bed category share a published size, so the useful comparison is the plan and furnishings. A terrace may be a lovely addition for a couple, but it does not necessarily mean a large bedroom. Families should request the precise number of sleeping spaces and bathrooms; the hotel also lists a family-suite arrangement that deserves a separate discussion.
| Category | Published size | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe Double | 24 m² | A compact base for a visit spent exploring the city. |
| Deluxe Single | 18 m² | A dedicated solo-traveller option. |
| Deluxe Double with Terrace | Size to confirm | Prioritises outdoor space; request the indoor dimensions separately. |
| Deluxe with Sofa Bed | 30 m² | An option when an additional sleeping arrangement is needed. |
| Junior Suite | 30 m² | Compare the layout with the similarly sized Deluxe option. |
| Suite / Suite with Terrace | 75 / 80 m² published | Larger two-space arrangements; clarify terrace inclusion in the measurements. |
Published areas may include outdoor space. Confirm the exact layout, occupancy and inclusions for the room offered.
The official room descriptions include Wi-Fi, minibar, safe and contemporary bathrooms, with climate control described as seasonal. If a particular temperature setting, accessible layout or cot is important, arrange it directly rather than relying on a broad category description.
The fourth-floor rooftop offers views and a place to end the day. Think of the pool as a city-hotel facility for a pause, not a substitute for a large resort pool.
The hotel lists an indoor heated pool, thermal circuit and treatments. Access can be separately charged, so clarify the duration and conditions when reserving.
A fitness room complements the walking you will naturally do around Málaga. Ask about opening hours if you prefer an early workout before breakfast.
The setting encourages a mix of beach-district walks and cultural visits. Leave time between plans so you can enjoy the building and rooftop rather than using the hotel only as a place to sleep.
The restaurant focuses on produce and grill cooking, with meat, fish and seafood in the current presentation. It is a useful option for a deliberate dinner within the hotel.
The rooftop offers another mood later in the day. We would pair one hotel evening with another spent exploring Málaga's restaurants, keeping the visit varied without adding long journeys.
John T praised the staff, décor, bathroom and breakfast, and particularly enjoyed his outdoor terrace.

Jodie enjoyed the location and attentive team, while Charlotte M described a comfortable short break with helpful staff.

John T found the bedroom relatively small despite the generous terrace, and Jodie noted that the pool was small. These are useful room-selection points. The review sample is still limited, so we would not treat a handful of accounts as a settled consensus.
Selected public guest accounts, paraphrased and checked on 26 October 2026. These individual experiences are not a representative survey or a promise of the same stay.
An interesting choice for architecture and a Málaga city break, with room proportions and wellness access checked first.

La Malagueta lets you compare coastal city living with the historic centre and the wider Costa del Sol. Notice the walking routes, street activity and daily conveniences you enjoy. We can then discuss relevant homes in the current collection and whether this urban rhythm is what you want for longer visits.
