SO/ Sotogrande

A different pace.
A place to picture your life.

THE HOTEL & ITS SETTING

A resort to enjoy.
A place to explore.

A five-star spa and golf resort in Sotogrande Alto, SO/ combines white Andalusian architecture, contemporary interiors and gardens with views across the landscape towards the sea. Its 152 rooms and suites make this a full resort rather than a small boutique hideaway.

Days can revolve around the pools, a round at The Alto Club, a long lunch or time in the spa. The marina and coast are separate outings. For anyone considering a home here, it also offers a base from which to explore Sotogrande at an unhurried pace.

A good match if…

You want golf, spa time and a comfortable base while exploring Sotogrande’s residential areas.

Worth knowing

This is an inland setting. Plan separate outings for the marina, the beach and the restaurants you want to try.

YOUR ROOM, YOUR WAY OF STAYING

More than somewhere to sleep.

Start with how you will use the space: a comfortable base for two, a separate lounge, or proper room for the family.

SO/ Two · Two-bedroom suite · Hotel photography

Our starting point for two

Compare SO/ Comfy with SO/ Studio. Comfy gives you a terrace; Studio adds distinct living and sleeping zones. For a longer stay, SO/ Suite gives the lounge its own space.

Coming with family?

SO/ Together pairs adjacent bedrooms around a shared outdoor entrance. SO/ Two brings two bedrooms and bathrooms into one suite. Ask specifically for connecting doors if that is what you need.

There is enough here for a day with no plans beyond the hotel. The details change with the season.

Spa & fitness

The 3,500 m² wellness and fitness complex includes a hydrothermal circuit, a 20-metre indoor lap pool and eight treatment rooms. Cryotherapy and flotation sit alongside massages and sea-inspired treatments.

The gym opens around the clock, with group classes and personal training options. Check which treatments and sessions your rate includes.

December stays: the hotel announces maintenance closure of the spa’s pool and sauna areas from 9–18 December 2026.

Pools & time outside

The Infinity Pool, Family Pool and quieter Deck area offer different settings. Outdoor opening is seasonal; the hotel lists heating for the Infinity and Family pools.

Adults-only arrangements depend on which pools are open. For a lagoon beach day, The Beach at La Reserva is a separate venue, listed as 5.4 km away; confirm access and charges.

Golf at The Alto Club

An 18-hole course on the hotel grounds, originally designed by Dave Thomas and later enhanced by Manuel Piñero. Its hills, trees and water features give the round its character.

The academy, led by Suzann Pettersen, offers coaching, Toptracer practice and custom fitting. Compare a golf package with a room-only stay and reserve tee times separately.

For families

SO/ Kids Club caters for ages 4–13, with indoor and outdoor activities; its opening dates and hours vary seasonally. There are children’s menus and family accommodation options.

Spa access is normally for ages 16+. Children aged 5–15 may use the hydrothermal circuit with an adult from 9–11am; under-fives are not admitted. Check the pool rules for your children’s ages.

AT THE TABLE

From a slow breakfast
to dinner at Cortijo.

Family memories

The little moments matter.

Neyla H · Stay in June 2026

Worth knowing

Alongside the praise, Andrea questioned restaurant value and Fernando found room service limited. FreemansLondon found pool restrictions awkward for children of different ages.

Sarah B also reported a room-cooling fault during a September 2026 stay, while praising dining and facilities. That is an individual historical report, not confirmation of a current hotel-wide problem.

Our English summaries of nine selected public guest accounts, dated June–September 2026 and checked on 25 October 2026. These are paraphrases, not quotations or a complete survey. ALL Accor is the hotel group’s own review platform; Tripadvisor is a separate platform.

Our takeaway

Consider SO/ for a resort-led stay with golf and wellness. For families, establish the pool arrangements before booking; for longer visits, budget for dining and leave space to explore restaurants outside the hotel.
