MiM Sotogrande, Meliá Collection

Harbour mornings and a more personal Sotogrande stay.

WHY IT BELONGS HERE

For the pleasure of being by the boats.

MiM Sotogrande, part of Meliá Collection, offers a boutique base in the marina rather than an inland resort estate. Nautical interiors, harbour views and a rooftop pool make the waterside setting central to the stay. It is particularly appealing when you want to walk out for a coffee or dinner and keep the boats, beach and marina atmosphere close, while planning golf and other excursions separately.

We would choose it for a couple exploring Sotogrande, a short celebration or a visit that combines leisure with a property search. The marina gives an immediate sense of one side of local life, but it is only one part of the area. Leave time to see the leafy residential streets, golf settings and hillside communities before deciding what a longer stay should look like.

A good match if…

Couples and visitors who prefer a small marina hotel, contemporary interiors and restaurants within walking reach.

Think about your priorities.

Marina life differs from the privacy of an inland resort. Check whether your room faces the street, harbour or sea, and whether it has a usable terrace.

What we would consider

The terrace categories deserve a careful comparison because published indoor and outdoor measurements can be interpreted differently. Request a plan and a clear area breakdown. For two couples, bathroom access and bedroom privacy matter more than the most impressive suite name. For a shorter stay spent mostly around the marina, a well-positioned Deluxe Sea View may be all you need.

Selected rooms & suites
Category Published size What sets it apart
Superior Room 20 m² The compact starting category; confirm its precise outlook.
Deluxe Room / Deluxe Sea View 29 m² Choose explicitly between street and sea outlooks.
Junior Suite / Junior Suite Sea View 35 m² Open-plan living space in the published description.
Junior Suite Sea View Terrace 52 m² published The hotel also specifies a 23 m² terrace; confirm how the areas are counted.
Grand Suite with Terrace 64 m² published Separate lounge plus a published 48 m² covered terrace.
Grand Suite Messi 111 m² published Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a published 71 m² covered terrace.

Published areas may include outdoor space. Confirm the exact layout, occupancy and inclusions for the room offered.

Everyday comforts

The current room collection uses nautical colours and natural light, with larger suites adding distinct living spaces. Ask about the actual terrace furniture and outlook if a quiet drink outside is part of your ideal evening.

BEYOND THE ROOM

Time well spent.

Rooftop infinity pool

The rooftop gives the hotel a leisure space above the harbour. Check its operating hours and any reservation conditions, especially if swimming is a main reason for choosing the stay.

Hydrotherapy

The published circuit includes hydromassage, infrared sauna, an ice fountain and sensory showers. Confirm access under your rate and book a suitable slot rather than assuming unrestricted use.

Golf and sport nearby

Sotogrande's golf, polo and racquet-sport opportunities sit beyond the marina. Plan transport and reservations around the activities you want, keeping realistic time between them.

A walkable marina base

The immediate surroundings make short, spontaneous outings easy. We would leave at least one morning for walking and breakfast without a car, then use another day to explore farther inland.

AT THE TABLE

Make a meal of the occasion.

Hincha by Nandu Jubany

The restaurant's current presentation centres on seafood, Mediterranean fish and local produce. Reserve a particular evening in advance if it is part of the reason for staying.

Tribuna Rooftop

The rooftop combines harbour views with dining and cocktails. It is a natural choice for an evening close to the hotel, while the marina gives you alternatives for a less structured night.

OTHER PEOPLE’S EXPERIENCES

Worth knowing

Several public listings still mix information from earlier versions of the hotel. Use the current Meliá room names and confirm facilities directly. A 20 m² entry room, a sea-view Deluxe and a large terrace suite offer very different experiences despite sharing the same address.

Selected public guest accounts, paraphrased and checked on 26 October 2026. These individual experiences are not a representative survey or a promise of the same stay.

Our takeaway

A particularly useful introduction to marina life, with the outlook and outdoor space chosen to suit the visit.

LOOK BEYOND THE HOTEL

Get a feel for living here.

Start with the marina, then compare Sotogrande Costa, the Alto and La Reserva before drawing conclusions about a home. Walkability, garden privacy, views and proximity to golf vary substantially. We can arrange a small selection of viewings that makes those choices clear while leaving the holiday intact.

Plan the details that matter

Confirm the room outlook, terrace measurements and thermal-circuit access. If using Gibraltar Airport, allow for the border journey; if arriving through Málaga, plan a comfortable transfer rather than a tightly timed first appointment.

A clear booking brief

Share room preferences, accessibility needs, children’s ages and any occasion you are celebrating. Ask for the cancellation terms, included meals and additional charges in writing before confirming.
