Kimpton Los Monteros brings a contemporary design sensibility to one of Marbella’s established resort names. Its 195 rooms include an extensive suite collection; gardens, pools, rooftop evenings and racquet sports make this somewhere to spend time, rather than simply a place to sleep between outings. The setting is east of central Marbella, with La Cabane beach club a separate trip from the hotel.
Our suggestion is to decide what kind of Marbella holiday you want before choosing the room. This is an appealing base for couples who enjoy restaurants and a social atmosphere, or a family wanting space and activities. Build a few relaxed hotel days into the itinerary, then reserve time for the old town, beach and surrounding residential areas.
A good match if…
You enjoy expressive interiors, a lively dining scene and the option to combine pool time with tennis, padel or a round of golf.
Think about your priorities.
You want to step directly from your room onto a town promenade, or expect every restaurant and children’s activity to run throughout the year.
YOUR STAY, PERSONALLY CONSIDERED
Tell us what your ideal stay looks like.
A quiet suite, a family escape, great golf or a special occasion. Share what matters and we’ll help shape your shortlist and discuss the details. If a home here is part of the picture, we can plan private viewings around your stay.
Think first about layout, then outlook. A duplex and a single-level suite can feel very different for young children or anyone who prefers to avoid stairs. The hotel’s published categories are outlined below; sizes are listed as published without assuming that terraces are included.

For two
Compare the actual terrace, aspect and position offered, not just the category name. A quieter room may be more valuable than extra floor area if you plan late starts and afternoon rests.
For the family
Ask for a floor plan and the proposed beds before committing. With a sofa bed in use, check that the lounge still works for your evenings together.

Maison CODAGE Spa at Kimpton Los Monteros · Hotel photography
Maison CODAGE Spa
The hydrothermal circuit includes a saltwater pool, sauna, steam room, hammam, sensory showers and an ice fountain. Access is for ages 16 and over. The published in-house rate is €38 per hour, with circuit access included in selected named suites. Treatments are a separate decision: choose the treatment and timing that suit you, and have the inclusions confirmed with your room quote.
Pools and the beach
Pool time at the hotel and a day at La Cabane are different experiences. La Cabane combines an infinity pool, sunbeds and a seafront restaurant setting, but it is not an automatic inclusion with every room. Its official page was marked temporarily closed when checked on 25 October 2026. For future dates, ask about reopening, reservations, children’s access and any minimum spend.
Tennis, padel and golf
The Racquet Club lists four Top Clay tennis courts, three hard courts and six glass padel courts, alongside coaching and social sessions. It makes this a useful choice when playing regularly matters. Reserve courts and lessons separately. Golfers should also secure their preferred tee times early rather than assume a hotel booking reserves a round.
Little Monteros
The children’s club is designed for ages 4–12 and is located at the Racquet Club. The hotel describes access as complimentary for staying guests, but the current page is marked closed. Treat it as a seasonal facility: establish the programme for your exact dates before building the family holiday around it, particularly outside school holidays.
AT THE TABLE
Make room for a memorable meal.
Jara restaurant at Kimpton Los Monteros · Hotel photography
Jara
The hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant draws on Andalusian produce, seafood, rice dishes and cooking over the Josper grill. Breakfast combines a buffet with dishes prepared to order. As checked on 25 October 2026, the official page says lunch and dinner closed from 12 October, while breakfast continues. It is a useful distinction when comparing meal plans for an autumn or winter stay.
Escondido Rooftop
An elevated setting for Mexican-inspired sharing dishes, cocktails and sea views, with an infinity pool and an events programme. Think of it as a planned evening rather than simply the nearest bar. Reserve a table, check the current schedule and establish age policies if children are joining you.
La Cabane
Dani García’s food and the Dolce&Gabbana setting make this a distinct beach-club occasion. Consider a leisurely lunch when it is operating, then decide whether to add a pool day. Ask about the restaurant and sunbed bookings individually, because they need not carry the same conditions or availability.
THE GUEST PERSPECTIVE
What guests say.
The details guests remember are often the welcome, the rooms and the way an occasion was made personal.
Rooms with character
Claire praised the spacious room, thoughtful details, breakfast selection and comfortable pool loungers, alongside friendly staff throughout a stay with friends.

A birthday made memorable
Edwin described a birthday surprise with cake and decorations, an unexpected suite upgrade and an enjoyable hotel party. These were personal gestures during that visit, not booking benefits to assume.

A family welcome
Jacko5483 particularly valued the Jara team’s warmth towards the children, the room design and the food across several venues during an anniversary trip.

Worth knowing
Jacko5483 also reported conflicting information about children’s rooftop access. The hotel apologised for the confusion. Ask for the current policy when planning a family evening.
English paraphrases of three selected public guest accounts, checked on 25 October 2026. This is a small editorial selection, not a complete survey or an overall rating.
Consider it for a stay where the hotel’s style and social spaces matter. For families, clarify room layout and venue age rules; for off-season visits, confirm which experiences are operating.
Explore a longer stay
Could this be your next chapter?
Available homes in Marbella. A starting point for a personal search, with viewings planned around your stay.
A stay here can introduce you to Marbella beyond the Golden Mile. We would use a viewing visit to compare the daily rhythm of the eastern neighbourhoods with the central coast.
Los Monteros and the eastern coast
Spend time around the residential streets and beach approaches as well as the hotel. If a home catches your eye, visit the setting at different times and think about the journeys you would make regularly.
Marbella old town
Set aside an unhurried outing for the old town. A restaurant booking and a walk can help you decide whether you want a future home close to town life or prefer returning to a quieter residential setting.
A useful property visit
Tell us which parts of the stay you enjoy most: outdoor living, restaurants, golf or privacy. We can use that conversation to narrow the property shortlist before asking you to spend a holiday morning on viewings.
BEFORE YOU COME
The practical details.
A little planning helps you choose the right room, the right dates and the right pace.
Send the hotel the details that affect your comfort: steps, lift access, bed configuration and whether a bath is essential. Ask it to confirm those requirements in the offered category instead of relying only on gallery photographs.
Plan the season, not just the dates
A resort can feel quite different in October and August. Check dining, beach-club and children’s-club availability together, so the stay you are imagining matches the facilities actually open.
Allow for getting around
Treat old-town dinners and Puerto Banús evenings as outings from this base. Arrange a car or transfers around the places you want to explore, and leave at least one afternoon without appointments.
Compare the full proposal
Look at breakfast, spa access, parking and cancellation terms alongside the room price. A suite package can include useful extras, but compare the exact offer rather than assuming all suites or all rates share the same benefits.
